Gorilla Trekking and Chimpanzee Safaris
This trip starts in Kampala, Uganda and travels south through Uganda
to Rwanda finishing back in Kampala. Guided gorilla trekking Chimpanzee
tracking Lake Bunyonyi Trekking in the Verungu Mountains in the
Parc de Volcans in Rwanda in search of the mountain gorilla is one
of the most memorable experiences that will stay with you forever.
Once found you can sit meters away from these magnificent endangered
creatures. A visit to see the gorillas will help to ensure their
continued survival in their natural habitat.
Day 1 Kampala Departure Point: Bukoto, Blue Mango Hotel, Old Kira
Rd, Kampala. Check In Time: 8:45am Departure Time: 9:30am After
checking into the hotel you head off to the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
Situated on an island 23kms from Entebbe, the sanctuary is beautifully
forested which provides a safe environment for the orphaned chimpanzee
that now regard this as their home. (L; D)
Day 2 Kibale National Park An early start sees you heading southwest
to Gorilla country. Sir Winston Churchhill named Uganda "The Pearl
of Africa" and never a truer word has been spoken about this beautiful
country. The scenery is green and the people are extremely hospitable.
The landscape varies from fertile green areas to snow covered Ruwenzori
Mountains in the west to semi - desert parts in the north. (B; L;

Day 3 Parc de Volcansin This is an easier day as we cross the Ruwenzoris

Day 4 Kisoro After a briefing by the park ranger, we head off in
search of these magnificent gentle giants, the mountain gorilla.

and tiring, although once in their presence the effort is more than
worth it. The mountain gorilla (Gorilla Berengei) is one of our
closest living relatives and it is thought that only about 600 still
exist! Late afternoon sees us cross over into Uganda. The experience
of trekking the gorillas is one of the greatest highlights that
anyone can have in Africa. (B; L; D)
